Dickson calls for free transport study - Local - Carrick Times: "“Part of the logic for offering transport concessions to over-60s is to tackle social exclusion. Research has shown that children and young people are more at risk in that regard, adding another reason why we should give serious consideration to free school transport.
“We should be attempting to bring about a shift in attitudes to public transport, which is another benefit of a policy such as this. If we can instil a preference for public transport in children and young people, that will help us to widen our effort to bring about a modal shift away from our dependence on the private car.”"
